FRESMAK, in collaboration with POLYMAT-UPV, Basque Country University-, has developed an alternative and innovative clamping feature named F-GRIP, based on the adherence principle.
The most notable characteristics of the F-GRIP clamping system are the followings
F-GRIP is an adhesive clamping material and a family of clamping components capable to generate a clamping and adhesion forces higher than any other technology in the market, on any type of rigid material (ferromagnetic, no-ferromagnetic, composite…).
Once integrated to the design of workholding fixtures and clamping devices for the part machining, it enables to fix the part with less interference with the machining process and the cutting tools than any other alternative technology in the market.

REQUIRES FEWER WORKHOLDING FIXTURES DURING THE MACHINING PROCESS TO OBTAIN THE FINAL PARTS
The F-GRIP material formulation has been specifically established for the reversible clamping function.
It is based on a polymeric composite obtained from a thermoresponsive material and an epoxy resin.
Additionally, a basic element of the F-GRIP technology is a specific workholding fixture, custom-made according to the customer part design. This tooling includes a system for heating and another one to cool down the assembly.
